This is an interesting site, and i find it is a reality check in how fast the population is growing. I think that with the number increasing in front of your eyes is a huge eye opener and maybe more effective than just a picture of a lot of people. The clock seems to take 2 steps forward and one step back and its really cool to think that this many people are being born and how many happy families are out there are very happy. although seeing how many deaths there are per second is very large and is very sad to see. its hard to think of people as numbers, but to get this message across in how large the population is increasing i think the numbers are most effective. i really do think that the video you showed us in class Mrs Edge is very effecting in showing us how large of a human race we really are.

This population clock is very interesting because it really gives an upfront physical look at overpopulation.Which is something that nobody really thinks about on a day to day basis. When in reality it is something that is affecting the world at an increasingly high rate. Overpopulation causes a strain on the economy, because the country cant handle the needs of the people so they have to take loans out from foreign countries which puts them even more in debt. Then there are high unemployment rates as well so the country cant support itself, which then leads to higher levels of crime. Agriculture also cant support the amount of people and urban areas become more polluted, and pollute other areas such as waterways and other ecosystems. Then civil wars and other internal problems in the country can happen. So this is an issue that we should think about, and seriously consider. That's why this population clock is good to bring this to the publics attention in an interesting manner.
pretty interesting. It shows you how the world is becoming overpopulated and the problems that overpopulation will bring. lots of people dont realize that overpopulation can have serious consequences and cause serious problems to the world. If the worlds population keeps on growing at this rate, many of the valued resources that we currently use in our everyday life will deplete to the point that they will no longer be available. Also countries that sell these resources will become poor and most likely in debt with the loss of these resources. also many polluted areas will not be able to sustain any agriculture and the source of food for many of these people will no longer exist.
