  1. i think this movement is an amazing thing to spread around. Not only for girls in developing countries but also developed nations because it gives us the power to help another girl in need. Because i am a girl in a developed country i can help another girl in a developing country, who can help girls in her community. its a chain reaction that empowers girls everywhere. because women are empowered, anything can happen in their communitys. The world could use a feminie touch i think. :)

here are some other good organizations and their websites that do good work with empowering communities

  2. I agree wholeheartedly with the comment above. I love the message that the Because I am a girl organization puts out into the world. They show that just because we are girls and women does not mean we should be looked past or ignored. Women are just as strong as men, if given the chance they can prove it. One thing I love most though not even about the organization but about the commercials we see everywhere is that it’s not just girls in developed countries they show changing the world but, girls in developing countries as well. I love watching it and seeing that even though they live in some of the hardest places in the world they are so strong and powerful that they can perceiver through all of their issues and remain strong. They are the perfect role models for young girls everywhere. One girl who has been in the news for the last little while is Malala Yousafza a young woman from Mingora. This girl who is three years younger than I am,is a girl who can deliver the most powerful speeches. She strongly believes in women’s rights and education, and in her country and where she lives the education had recently been banned to girls past year four. But Malala and her friends have been able to beat the system and continue to go to school despite her countries best efforts. Although the Taliban did track her down, shoot her, and continue to say that if she fully recovers they will target her again I believe that she will push through this and will continue to fight for what she believes in. To me this young woman is a role model to us all that when we believe in something we should always fight for it, no matter how big or small the topic may be.
